Neighbourhood Writing
We’re excited to support our friends at Megaphone magazine as they launch their beautiful annual book Voices of the Street. Three of our writers have pieces in the book – Jan Tse, James Witwicki and Henry Doyle!
Join us May 12th for a night of storytelling and readings from Megaphone’s 6th Annual Literary Edition, Voices of the Street, co-presented by our friends at RainCity Chronicles.
This event sold out in record time last year – we hope you can join us this time! If you can’t attend, consider sponsoring a community member by purchasing and donating tickets!
It is a joy and a privilege to be invited into the raw and creative world of the writers published in Voices of the Street. The stories shared are in turns moving, heartfelt, funny, and inspiring.
The night will feature stories and readings from Voices of the Street writers, music, and delicious refreshments courtesy of SFU Woodwards.
Doors open at 6:30pm – please join us for snacks and refreshments. Program starts promptly at 7:00pm, and will end at 9:00pm. Voices of the Street will be available for purchase from Megaphone vendors for $5 (cash only) before and after the show.
There will be an opportunity at the event to make a donation to support Megaphone’s work to amplify the voices of people experiencing poverty and homelessness.
