Heart of the City Festival
On Saturday November 4, 2017 we’ll be part of the Heart of the City Festival.
4pm – 5pm in the Carnegie Community Centre Theatre
Stories of Her: Thursdays Writing Collective Honours Women of the DTES
Celebrating 10 years of writing, gathering, and sharing on the DTES. Join us as we come together to share work on the theme of honouring women, embracing feminine energy and celebrating women in their totality through the presentation of poetry, short fiction, memoir, songs, prayers, rants, hybrid experiments and personal essays.
This festival is one of our favourites and we’re happy to be a part of it again. Here is the program guide.
We’re excited for our friend Brenda Prince who is doing a reading of her play “SRO” on Saturday Nov 4 at 3pm-4:30pm at the InterUrban Gallery. Brenda was in the first ever Thursdays Writing Collective meeting and went on to UBC to pursue an MFA in creative writing. Break a leg!
Big thanks to Terry, Theresa, Savannah and everyone at the Heart of the City, including David Cooper, the photographer who shot our group photo!
